Disconnect the 6-pin connector (A). Connect a voltmeter to contact 2 of the cable part of the connector and to ground (e.g. engine block). Turn on the ignition. Required value: 11-13 V. Turn off the ignition.
Connect an ohmmeter between contact 1 and ground. Resistance should be 0 Ohm, turn off ignition.
Check the output voltage. To do this, connect a voltmeter to contact 4 and ground. Turn on the ignition. The required value is 4.8 5.2 V. Turn off the ignition.
Differences in connector pinout:
- 1.5L engine, manufactured from 9.88 to 8.90: power supply = terminal 3; mass = contact 2; output - contact 4.
- 16-valve engine, production from 9.88 to 8.90: power supply = contact 2; mass = pin 1; output = pin 3.
- 16-valve engine, production from 9.90 to 2.92: power supply = contact 3; mass = pin 4; output - contact 1, see also connector (B) in Fig. K-2210.
