Checking the idle mode (Mitsubishi Lancer 3)

Warm up the engine to operating temperature (coolant temperature 80°-90°C). Turn off the engine.

Turn off all energy consumers.

Set the gearbox to neutral, apply the handbrake. Set the automatic transmission to position "P".

Check the ignition timing, see p. 4.7.

Remove the jumper wire (ground connection) to set the ignition timing.

Let the engine run for about 2 minutes at idle speed.

Check the idle speed. Required value: 850±100 rpm.

Note: The idle speed is automatically adjusted by the idle speed controller. In case of deviations, read the data from the failure memory and localize the defect according to a special diagnostic plan.

Connect measuring instruments with the ignition off.
