Removal and installation the right balance shaft pulley



Remove the plug from the right side of the cylinder block, insert an 8 mm Phillips screwdriver into the hole (a) to secure the shaft, unscrew the fastening nut and remove the gear.



Install the gear in the reverse order of removal, tightening the nut to a torque of 36±3 Nm.

Removal and installation the left balance shaft pulley



Unscrew and remove the left cover from the cylinder block.

When installing the cover in place (when assembling the engine), apply MITSUBISHI sealant No. MD970389 (roller diameter 2.3±1 mm) to it, and apply fixing compound ЗМ ATD No.8660 to the screw threads.



Insert a screwdriver or key (b) of a suitable diameter into the hole to secure the shaft and loosen the gear mounting screw.





Install the gear in the reverse order of removal, tightening the mounting screw to a torque of 36±3 Nm.

Removal and installation the crankshaft timing belt pulley "B"



The pulley is removed from the shaft using a puller (1).



Installing pulleys on the crankshaft



When installing pulleys on the shaft, clean and degrease the mounting elements as shown in Figure M2 2.041.



Install the flange on the shaft, aligning the alignment marks on the front lower cover and the flange (see Fig. M2 2.042).
