For topping up - even in the warm season - use a mixture of antifreeze and lime-free water.
Attention: To continue the trip, you can, especially in summer, top up with clean water. Subsequently, add antifreeze as soon as possible.
- On a cold engine (coolant temperature approx. 20°C) The coolant level in the expansion tank must be between the FULL and LOW marks.
- When the fluid level approaches the LOW mark on a cold engine, add coolant.
- To prevent damage, pour cold coolant into a cold engine only.
Caution: Only open the expansion tank cap, never open the radiator cap when the engine is hot. Danger of scalding! Lay a cloth around the lid when opening. If possible, open the lid at temperatures below 90°C.
- Perform an external inspection and search for leaks if the fluid level drops rapidly.
