Attention: When draining the coolant during repair work, it should be collected for later use, as the coolant contains antifreeze and anti-corrosion components. But if the water pump, radiator or cylinder head is replaced, the coolant must be replaced. Use only coolants approved by MITSUBISHI.
Drain
Set the heater control lever in the passenger compartment to the position "Warm".
Loosen the radiator cap.
Caution: Place a cloth around the fitting for safety reasons. Unscrew the cover only when the radiator has cooled to a warm state, otherwise you can get scalded.
Place a clean vessel of suitable capacity under the radiator to collect the liquid.
Turn the wing screw under the radiator and drain the coolant. Drain the coolant from the expansion tank.
Install and tighten the drain screw on the radiator.
Gulf
Pour coolant through the radiator neck to the top edge. Close radiator.
Pour coolant into the expansion tank up to the mark "FULL". Close the tank lid.
Start the engine and let it run for about 10 minutes at high idle. The motor should reach its operating temperature and the fan should turn on. During heating, observe the liquid level, possibly adding liquid.
After the engine has cooled down, check the coolant level in the expansion tank. If necessary, add coolant until the radiator is completely filled. Then screw the radiator cap on tightly.
Add coolant to the expansion tank up to the mark "FULL".
Check the cooling system for leaks, especially the hose connections, drain plugs and water pump.
