- Be sure to use unleaded gasoline only.
- If leaded gasoline was added by mistake, the exhaust pipe before the catalytic converter must be replaced, as well as the catalytic converter. Before installing new parts, however, a minimum of 2 fillings of the fuel tank with unleaded petrol is necessary.
- Starting the engine by pushing or towing is not permitted. Unburned fuel, if ignited, can overheat the catalyst and destroy it. Use a cable to start the engine"cigarette lighter".
- Frequent, consecutive cold engine starts should be avoided. Otherwise, unburned fuel accumulates in the catalyst, which burns explosively, destroying the catalyst.
- If you have difficulty starting the engine, do not take too long (over a minute) turn the engine over with the starter. During cranking, fuel is constantly injected. The cause must be identified and eliminated.
- Do not test for spark with spark plug tips disconnected.
- It is impossible to carry out a comparative check by turning off the ignition in one of the cylinders.
- In case of ignition problems, avoid high speeds and eliminate the defect as soon as possible.
- Do not park or leave the vehicle for long periods of time where combustible objects such as dry grass and leaves may come into contact with a hot muffler. Fire hazard!
