Removal



− Before you begin removing parts, perform the following operations:
  • a) Drain the working fluid from the power steering hydraulic system.
  • b) Remove the spiral wire.
  • c) Remove the subframe.
  • d) Remove the exhaust system components.

− The parts are removed in the order of numbers shown in the figure "Power steering hydraulic system hoses".



Power Steering Hydraulic Hoses (Models from 05.2000) 1 - power steering fluid reservoir, 2 - inlet hose, 3 - return hose, 4 - steering shaft bolt, 5 - bracket bolt, 6 - bypass boot, 7 - O-ring, 8 - discharge hose, 9 - return pipe, 10 - O-ring, 11 - subframe.


Note: First tighten the nuts marked and then tighten to the specified torque after installation is complete.




Power steering hydraulic hoses (models from 10.2001). 1 - Power steering fluid reservoir, 2 - return hose "A", 3 - inlet hose, 4 - return hose "B", 5 - return pipe assembly, 6 - return hose "C", 7 - steering shaft bolt, 8 - bracket bolt, 9 - bypass bolt, 10 - O-ring, 11 - discharge hose, 12 - return pipe, 13 - O-ring, 14 - cooler pipe assembly.


Note: Screw on the nuts marked with "*" first and tighten to the specified torque after installation is complete.




- When removing parts, pay attention to the operation of removing the bypass bolt and return pipe.

To facilitate removal, lower the subframe to the lower position.

Note: Do not remove the subframe mounting bolt.


Installation



− Installation of parts is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

- (Models from 10.2001) When installing parts, pay attention to the following operations.

1. Installing the return hose "C".

a) Install the return hose and secure it with a clamp as shown in the figure. Pay attention to the color marks.



b) Connect the return hose to the return pipe.



2. Installing the return hose "B".

Install the return hose and secure it with clamps as shown in the figure. Pay attention to the color marks.





3. Installing the inlet hose Connect the inlet hose to the tank as shown in the figure.



4. Installing the return hose "A".

a) Connect the return hose to the tank as shown in the figure.



b) Fix the return hose to the return pipe bracket.

c) Install the return hose and secure it as shown in the figure. Pay attention to the color marks.





- After installing the parts, perform the following operations.

a) Install the exhaust system components.

b) Install the subframe.

c) Install the spiral wire.

d) Fill the power steering hydraulic system with working fluid.
