Removal and installation

Before you begin removing parts, perform the following operations:
  • a) Pump the refrigerant out of the air conditioning system.
  • b) Remove the radiator grille.

The parts are removed in the order of numbers shown in the figure "Removing the air conditioning system pipelines".

Removal air conditioning system pipes. 1 - refrigerant pressure sensor, 2 - low pressure hose, 3 - high pressure hose, 4 - air conditioning system tube "A", 5 - air conditioning system tube "B".

Note: A - High pressure line service valve; B - low pressure line service valve.

When removing parts, pay attention to the operation of disconnecting the hoses and pipes of the air conditioning system.

Cap any disconnected hoses, tubes, and fittings on the receiver dryer to prevent moisture, dust, and other contaminants from entering.

Caution: Hoses must be hermetically sealed, otherwise the compressor oil and receiver-dryer may become saturated with water vapor from the atmosphere. Do not use porous material to close tubes and fittings.

Installation of parts is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

  • a) Install the radiator grille.
  • b) Fill the air conditioning system with refrigerant.
