Reducing the amount of oil in the compressor system worsens its lubrication and leads to failure of the air conditioner itself. Too much oil increases the outlet air temperature. When the air conditioner is assembled at the factory, it is charged with 120 ml of compressor oil. When the air conditioner is turned on, the oil is carried throughout the air conditioner system by the refrigerant. Some oil is trapped and held in various places in the system. When replacing some elements of the air conditioning system, it is necessary to add a certain amount of oil to replace the lost one along with the replaced elements.
Checking system operation
Checked vehicles should not be located in the open sun.
Close the high and low pressure valves on the gauge manifold.
Connect charging hose (of blue color) to the low pressure valve and connect the charging hose (Red) to the high pressure valve of the measuring manifold.
Attention! To connect the quick connector, firmly press the element «A» to service valve «clicks».
Attention! While connecting the hose, run your hand along the hose to make sure there are no kinks.
Attach quick connector (for low pressure) to charging hose (of blue color) and attach the quick connector (for high pressure) to charging hose (Red).
Attention! The high pressure service valve is on the A/C pipe and the low pressure service valve is on the suction hose.
Connect quick connector (low pressure) to the low pressure service valve and the quick connector (high pressure) to the high pressure service valve.
Start the engine.
Set the air conditioner controls as follows:
- air conditioner switch: air conditioner - on («ON»);
- mode selection: position «FACE» (in face);
- temperature control: position «MAXIMUM COOLING» («MAXIMUM COOLING»)
- air supply selection: position «RECIRCULATI ON» («RECYCLING»);
- heater switch: position: «4» («Fast») – («Fast»).
When the compressor magnetic clutch is engaged, the engine must be held at idle speed.
The engine must be warm (all windows and doors must be open).
Install the thermometer in the central air distributor grille and let the engine run for 20 minutes.
Attention! When engaging/disengaging the electromagnetic clutch, read the thermometer before disengaging the clutch
Note the value of the outlet air temperature.
