Removal and installation

− Before starting to remove parts, remove the glove box and the engine and CVT control unit.

− The parts are removed in the order of numbers shown in the figure "Removing the heater fan motor and the air intake mode selection flap servo drive".

Removal the heater fan electric motor and the air intake mode selection flap servo drive. 1 - resistor, 2 - fan electric motor, 3 - air intake mode selection flap servo drive.

- When removing parts, pay attention to the operation of removing the air intake mode selection flap servo drive.

Remove the air intake mode selector servo using the special tool shown in the figure.

− Installation of parts is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

- After completing the installation of the parts, install the glove box and the engine and CVT control unit.

Checking the resistor

Using a multimeter, measure the resistance between the indicated terminals of the resistor connector. The resistor is considered to be in good condition if the measured values correspond to the nominal values.

Except for models from 10.2001.

Checking the heater fan motor

Apply battery voltage to terminals "1" (+) and "2" (-) of the heater electric fan connector and check that the fan motor is running. Make sure that there is no extraneous noise when the fan rotates.

Cautions: To avoid injury, do not touch the fan during inspection.

Checking the air intake mode selection flap servo drive

1. Apply power (battery voltage) to terminals "7" (+) and "4" (-) of the electric motor connector and check that the air intake mode selection flap lever moves to the "FRESH" position.

2. Apply power (battery voltage) to terminals "7" (+) and "6" (-) of the electric motor connector and check that the air intake mode selection flap lever moves to the "RECIRC" position.

Caution: Turn off the power when the damper is in the "FRESH" (fresh air) or "RECIRC" (recirculation) position.
