Replacing the fuel filter (Mitsubishi Lancer 9)

1. The fuel filter is an integral part of the fuel pump assembly located on the fuel tank and cannot be replaced without complete disassembly of the fuel pump assembly.

2. A detailed description of the procedure for disassembling the fuel pump unit (replacing the fuel filter) is given in the chapter "Fuel injection system".

Note: Mitsubishi recommends replacing the fuel filter every 120,000 km of vehicle mileage. However, given the quality of gasoline in the CIS countries, we recommend replacing the fuel filter when there are signs of its actual failure or every 90,000 km to avoid failure of the fuel pump in the tank.
