Attention! Carry out the running-in operation of the brake pads in a place with good visibility, pay special attention to safety precautions. Carry out the following operations to break in the brake pads when replacing the rear brake pads or when replacing the rear brake discs or when the brake system does not respond satisfactorily.
Turn the adjusting nut to adjust the travel of the parking brake actuator to the nominal level.
Recommended value: 5-7 teeth (force applied to the parking brake lever: approximately 200 N).
Attach a spring dynamometer to the middle part of the parking brake handle and pull it with a force of 100-150 N in the direction perpendicular to the handle.
Drive the vehicle for a distance of approximately 100 ms at a constant speed of 35–50 km/h.
Release the parking brake lever and allow the brake mechanism to cool for 5–10 minutes.
Repeat this operation in steps 2 to 4 four or five times to ensure that the brake system is working properly.
