Caution! Perform the brake lining running-in operations in a place with good visibility, paying particular attention to safety precautions. Perform the following operations to run-in the brake linings when replacing the rear brake pads or when replacing the rear brake discs, or if the brake system does not operate satisfactorily.
Turn the adjusting nut to adjust the working stroke of the parking brake drive to the nominal level.
Recommended value: 5-7 teeth (force applied to the parking brake lever: approximately 200 N).
Attach a spring dynamometer to the middle part of the parking brake handle and pull it with a force of 100–150 N in a direction perpendicular to the handle.
Drive a car for about 100 ms at a constant speed of 35–50 km/h.
Release the parking brake lever and allow the brake mechanism to cool for 5–10 minutes.
Repeat this operation from steps 2 to 4 four or five times to ensure that the brake system is operating properly.
Checking the Parking Brake Indicator Light Switch
Remove the rear console assembly.
Remove the front seat assembly (right side).

Check for continuity between the parking brake light switch terminal and the switch mounting bolt.
- With the parking brake lever pulled out: no more than 2 Ohm;
- When the parking brake lever is released: the chain is broken.
