Installing the brake pad tensioner
Install the brake pad tensioner so that the left rear wheel adjusting bolt points toward the front of the vehicle and the right rear wheel adjuster bolt toward the rear of the vehicle.
Installing the brake shoe return springs
Brake shoe return springs must not be interchanged because they differ in performance. One of the springs with a blue mark should be installed closer to the front of the car, and the other with a yellow mark should be installed towards the rear of the car.
Attention! The picture shows the left rear wheel. The right rear wheel has a mirror symmetrical brake design.
Checking the brake linings and parking brake drum
Measure the thickness of the brake lining in several places.
- Nominal value: 2.8 mm.
- Limit value: 1.0 mm.
If the brake pad thickness is less than the limit, replace the brake pads on both sides of the vehicle. It is not allowed to change the brake pads on one side only.
Measure the inner diameter of the brake drum at several places.
- Rated value: 168.0 mm.
- Limit value: 169.0 mm.
If the inner diameter of the drum exceeds the limit, or there is significant wear on one side, replace the rear brake drum.
