Disconnect the rear wheel brake assembly and tie it to the car body with wire or cord.

The brake shoe tension springs cannot be interchanged because their characteristics are different. The one with the blue mark should be installed closer to the front of the car, and the other one with the yellow mark should be installed closer to the rear of the car.

Attention! The left rear wheel is shown in the picture. The right rear wheel has a mirror-symmetrical brake mechanism design.

Checking the brake linings and drum of the parking brake mechanism

Measure the brake lining thickness in several places.

• Nominal value: 2.8 mm.
• Limit value: 1.0 mm.

If the brake lining thickness is less than the limit value, replace the brake pads on both sides of the vehicle. It is not allowed to replace the brake pads on only one side.



Measure the inside diameter of the brake drum in several places.

• Nominal value: 168.0 mm.
• Limit value: 169.0 mm.

If the drum inner diameter exceeds the limit, or there is significant wear on one side, replace the rear brake drum.
