Pic. 14.7. Checking the thickness of the brake pads through a special hole in the caliper body
1. Check the thickness of the brake pads through a special hole in the caliper body (pic. 14.7).
Attention! If the brake pad thickness is below the limit, replace all disc brake pads on both wheels.
Attention! If there is a significant difference between the thickness of the linings of the right and left brake pads, check the operation of the piston of the working brake cylinder and the guide pins.

2. Loosen and remove the lower guide pin (pic. 14.8). Lift the caliper assembly and secure it with wire.
Attention! Do not wipe off the special grease from the surface of the guide pin and do not allow it to become contaminated.

3. Sequentially remove the brake pads with wear indicator assembly and outer gasket (pic. 14.9).
4. To measure the resistance to rotation after installing new brake pads, measure the resistance to rotation of the wheel bearing without the brake pads.
5. Install the brake pads and caliper assembly, then measure the resistance to rotation.
