Removing
Disconnect electrical connectors, e.g. power window motor, electrically controlled outside mirror, central locking device. To do this, remove the door trim see clause 20.11.
Knock out pin -1- upwards with a drift and hammer.
Give the bolts on the door hinges. Before doing this, mark the installation position by marking the heads of the bolts with a felt-tip pen. Remove the door with an assistant.
Installation
Put the door, straighten and screw the bolts.
Insert the door latch pin from above.
Connect the electrical connectors and install the door trim.
Then adjust the door.
Door adjustment
Adjustment of the position of the door is made when it is skewed or after removing the door.
Loosen the fastening of the locking wedge of the door so that it can be moved with light blows of a rubber mallet.
Adjustment is made by loosening the hinge bolts and moving the door. The hinges have holes larger than the diameter of the fastening bolts, so the hinge can move.
To adjust the docking dimensions, loosen the bolts on the body (front or middle pillar), without twisting. The docking size is adjusted by moving the door. Since access to the bolts is difficult, use the MITSUBISHI special tool.
Align the door to the contour of the body: If the front door in the closed position is not flush with the adjoining part of the body, loosen the hinge bolts on the door and move the door accordingly. The rear door can be recessed inwards by no more than 1 mm compared to the front door.
Adjust the locking wedge at the rear of the door. To do this, loosen the locking wedge so that it can be moved by light blows with a rubber mallet. Close and straighten the position of the door. Then carefully open the door and tighten both locking wedge screws to 10 Nm. For better control of wedge displacement, circle the locking wedge with a felt-tip pen.
If the door does not close because the locking wedge does not latch properly, place shim washers, see fig. K-4830.
If the door is seated perfectly in the closed position, tighten the hinge bolts to 25 Nm.
