Removing
Remove the washer nozzle hose.
Disconnect plug connection -6-, see fig. below.
1 - gas stop,
2 - rugile buffer,
3 - sealing rubber,
6 - cable connector,
7 - tailgate,
8 - loop,
9 - locking unit,
10 - opening handle,
11 - lock cable,
12 - lock.
Mark the installation position of the tailgate by marking the hinge bolts with a felt-tip pen.
Attention: If it is necessary to remove the hinges, you must first remove the ceiling lining in the area of the hinges in order to gain access to the bolts.
Brace the tailgate.
Disconnect the gas-filled stops from the body.
Caution: If a gas-filled strut is being replaced, the old strut must be vented before it is disposed of. To do this, in the marked area (10-20 mm) drill a hole with a diameter of 2-3 mm at the end of the cylinder so that the gas can completely escape. The gas is colorless, odorless and non-toxic.
Remove bolts from hinges and remove tailgate. This requires an assistant. Before removing the bolts from the hinges, lay a soft material between the door and the body to protect the paintwork.
Installation
Put the tailgate, screw the bolts. Align tailgate position and tighten bolts to 15 Nm.
Fasten the gas-filled stops.
Attention: When the stem is fully extended, do not rotate the stop stem and cylinder relative to each other.
tailgate adjustment
Loosen without unscrewing the bolts of the locking unit.
Fully screw in the adjusting buffers on both sides.
Loosen the hinge bolts and move the tailgate so that it stands with the same and parallel clearance relative to the body opening.
Fasten the locking assembly with a force of 15 Nm.
Then unscrew the adjusting buffers to a height of 14 mm. The buffers serve to cushion when the tailgate is closed.
Connect the washer nozzle hose.
Fit the connector for the electrical connection of the windshield washer motor and tailgate glass heating.
