Carburetor adjustment (Mitsubishi Lancer 3)

Each carburetor is tested and adjusted at the factory. This adjustment should not be changed. Increased fuel consumption and reduced engine power most often have other causes, and driving style and operating conditions of the vehicle play a particularly large role. Therefore, it is usually necessary to limit yourself to careful adjustment of idle speed and CO content. Correct adjustment of idle speed is very important for ensuring engine responsiveness and correct operation at medium speeds.

If the carburetor has a seal on the adjusting screw, it can be removed with pliers or a screwdriver. Sometimes it is advisable to screw a self-tapping screw into the seal and pull the screw out with pliers together with the seal. In this case, the seal is destroyed. After adjustment, close the adjusting screw with a new seal (supplied as a spare part for the corresponding carburetors).

If the carburetor has a set screw with a special head, a special MITSUBISHI key is required.
