Carburetor engine

Check idle speed, see item. 7.4/8.4.

Turn off the ignition.

Remove the air filter.

Make sure there are no kinks in the gas cable. If not, replace it.

Check the throttle cable play by moving the throttle lever slightly. The required value is 1-2 mm.

If the clearance is too small, loosen the adjusting nut until the throttle lever moves freely.

If there is too much play, first loosen the lock nut.

Tighten the adjusting nut until the throttle lever begins to move. Then turn the adjusting nut back one turn.

Tighten the lock nut.

The assistant presses the gas pedal and checks that the throttle valve is fully open.

Install the air filter.

Fuel injection engine

Check idle speed, see item. 7.4/8.4.

Turn off the ignition.

Remove the air filter.

Make sure there are no kinks in the gas cable. If not, replace it.

Check the throttle cable play by moving the throttle lever slightly. Required value: 1-2 mm; with automatic transmission: 3-5 mm.

If the value deviates from the required value, turn on the ignition (do not start the engine). Wait about 15 seconds until the idle speed adjustment motor returns to its original position.

Loosen the manifold set screws and move the plate so that the throttle cable play matches the required value.

Tighten the set screws.

Check if the throttle lever stop contacts the idle speed switch.

The assistant presses the gas pedal and checks that the throttle valve is fully open.
