Removal and installation
- Before starting to remove parts, remove the trunk sill trim.
− The parts are removed in the order of the numbers indicated in the figure "Removing the trunk lid".
Removal the trunk lid. 1 - trunk lid seal (remove the trunk side trim (left), rear seat, lower B-pillar trim, front side trim and accelerator pedal stop), 2 - trunk lid lock drive lever, 3 - trunk lid lock rod, 4 - trunk lid lock retainer, 5 - bumper, 6 - trunk lid lock cylinder, 7 - trunk lid lock assembly, 8 - trunk lid fastening bolt, 9 - trunk lid assembly, 10 - trunk lid torsion bar (right), 11 - trunk lid torsion bar (left), 12 - trunk lid hinge.
- When removing parts, pay attention to the operation of removing the trunk lid torsion bar:
Install the special tool at the torsion bar connection as shown in the figure, and push the tool upward to remove the torsion bar from one side.
Note: Be careful when removing the torsion bars, the left and right torsion bars intersect in the center of the opening, so you must first remove the torsion bar closest to you in the intersecting part.
Caution: The special tool must be securely placed on the torsion bar, otherwise it may jump out of the groove and damage body parts.


− Installation of parts is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
- When installing parts, pay attention to the following operations:
1. Installing the trunk lid seal.
Install the seal so that the marking and the seal joint are positioned as shown in the figure.

2. Installing the trunk lid torsion bar (left).
Note: The right trunk lid torsion bar has an identification mark (red).
a) Install the end "A" of the trunk lid torsion bar into the installation hole "B".
b) Set the "C" end of the trunk lid torsion bar to position "E".
c) Using the special tool, move the "D" end of the trunk lid torsion bar from the "F" position of the trunk hinge to the "G" position. This will move the "C" end of the trunk lid torsion bar to the "H" position of the trunk hinge.

3. Installing the trunk lid torsion bar (right).
The installation of the right trunk lid torsion bar is similar to the installation of the left trunk lid torsion bar.
- After completing the installation of the parts, perform the following operations:
- a) Install the trunk sill trim.
- b) Adjust the position of the trunk lid.
Checking the trunk lid lock switch
1. Check that the circuit is open between terminals "1" and "2" (ground) when the lever is in the "LOCK" position.
2. Check that the circuit is closed between terminals "1" and "2" (ground) when the lever is in the "UNLOCK" position (resistance less than 2 ohms).
