Checking the Transfer Case Oil Level (4WD Models) (Mitsubishi Lancer 9)

1. Check the transfer case for oil leaks, then check the oil level by removing the filler plug.

Note: The oil level should be level with the lower edge of the filler hole (filler plug hole).

2. Make sure there is no visible contamination of the oil. If the oil is contaminated, drain the oil and fill it with new oil. Make sure the oil has the appropriate viscosity.

3. Install the filler plug and tighten it to the specified torque.

Tightening torque - 30-34 N·m
