Checking and repairing without dismantling from the vehicle

1. Start the engine, adjust the speed to approximately 2000 rpm. Check the rear window defroster elements with a fully charged battery.
2. Turn on the rear window heating device switch, measure the electrical voltage between the heating elements at point "A" on the rear window (normal voltage value is approximately 6V).
3. If the voltage at point "A" is approximately 12V, then the negative contact of the wiring leading to point "A" is broken. Slowly move the tester probe along the wiring to the negative contact, determine the point of a sharp voltage drop (0V).
4. If a sharp drop in voltage occurs at point "A" itself, i.e. it coincides with point 0V, then the positive contact of the wiring leading to point "A" is broken. Using a method similar to that described above, determine the point of the sharp voltage jump (12 V).
