1. Start the engine and set the crankshaft speed to 3000 rpm without load (neutral position of the gearbox) until the cooling fan starts to operate, and then reduce the speed to idle speed.
2. Connect the tachometer.
3. Check the crankshaft speed at idle.
4. Warm up and calibrate the CO tester according to the manufacturer's instructions.
5. Check the CO emissions level at engine idle speed with the headlights, heater blower, rear window heater, electric cooling fan and air conditioner off.
The CO emission level must not exceed 0.1%.
