Disassembly is carried out in the order indicated in Fig. M2 5.026. Assembly is carried out in the reverse order of disassembly.
Dismantling, inner shaft
Remove the inner shaft from the differential case using a suitable tool (for example, such as shown in Fig. M2 5.027).
When performing work, make sure that the splined part of the shaft does not damage the oil seal.
Disassembly and assembly of the inner shaft
Disassembly is carried out in the order indicated in Fig. M2 5.028.
Assembly is carried out in the reverse order of disassembly.
Removing the inner shaft bearing
Bend the outer edge of the boot inward with a wooden mallet (pic. M2 5.029).
Install a suitable puller (as shown in fig. M2 5.030) and carefully tap the shaft out of the bearing.
Installing the inner shaft bearing
The bearing is mounted on the shaft with a puller (pic. M2 5.031) pressing.
Boot installation
The dust boot is installed using a suitable steel tubular mandrel (see fig. M2 5.032).
