Wheel balancing (Mitsubishi Lancer 3)

Wheels should be rebalanced before each installation. Balancing is necessary to compensate for uneven weight distribution and material inaccuracies.

During operation, the imbalance manifests itself in vibrations of the steering wheel. The steering wheel vibrates at a high rate.

Typically, this vibration only occurs at certain speeds and disappears as the speed decreases or increases.

Over time, such imbalance phenomena lead to the destruction of ball joints, steering gear and shock absorbers.

Wheels must be balanced after every 20,000 km and after each tire repair, as wear and repair change the distribution of mass and material in the tire.
