The windshield wiper motor is located in the water collection compartment under the windshield, the rear window wiper is in the tailgate. To check, remove the corresponding trim. The steps for the front wiper are described below, for the rear, proceed accordingly.

Checking the windshield wiper

First, find out whether the windshield wiper motor or the power supply is defective. To do this, proceed as follows:

Disconnect the windshield wiper motor connector.

Apply voltage (+) from the battery terminal to terminal 2 using an auxiliary wire. (The negative pole of the motor is already connected to the (-) battery terminal through the body).

The windshield wiper motor should work at speed 1 (slow). If not, then either the motor or the 1st stage of the switch is faulty.

Connect the positive wire together with terminal 2 to terminal 1 on the right. The wiper motor should run at high speed (stage 2).

By briefly connecting, start the motor from any position except the end position.

Short-circuit terminals 2 and 3.

Connect the positive battery terminal to terminal 4 and check that the engine stops at the end position after it starts.

Checking the rear window wiper: Connect the battery positive to contact 3 of the connector and check if the motor works. Then short-circuit contacts 1 and 2 and connect the battery positive to contact 3. The motor should start and stop at the end position.

If the motor is not working properly, install a new one, see item 26.3.
