Attention:
- The variator model is indicated in the line "TRANS/AXLE" on the identification plate, the location of which is given in the chapter "Identification".
- The procedures for checking the level and replacing the working fluid, cleaning the CVT working fluid cooler lines are given in the chapter "Maintenance and general check and adjustment procedures".
- Before working with the components of the electronic control system of the variator, read the section "General rules when working with an electronic control system" in chapter "Fuel injection system (MPI)".
Hydraulic control system
The hydraulic control system consists of a variator pump, a variator working fluid cooler, a control valve block, hydraulic accumulators, clutches and brakes.
The main pressure in the system is created by the pump, it is regulated depending on the load and speed of the car and ensures the operation of the torque converter, clutches and brakes. The switching valves in the valve block control the flow of working fluid that enters the torque converter and variator.
Electronic control system
The electronic control system includes sensors of external electronic systems (throttle position sensor, coolant temperature sensor, etc.), various sensors on the variator (turbine shaft speed sensor, sensors of the speed of the leading and driven pulleys, variator working fluid temperature sensor, vehicle speed sensor, etc.), control switches, an electronic control unit for the engine and variator, electromagnetic valves for controlling the flow of working fluid in the hydraulic system (located on the control valve block).
