Checking the level and density of electrolyte (Mitsubishi Pajero 4)

1. Check whether the electrolyte level in the battery is between the UPPER LEVEL marks (Upper level) and LOWER LEVEL (Lower level).

2. Use a hydrometer and thermometer to check the density of the electrolyte.

Nominal value: 1.220 - 1.290 [20°C]

3. The density of the electrolyte depends on the temperature, therefore, to convert the measured density value to the density at 20°C, use the following formula.

D₂₀ = Dt + 0,0007 (t - 20)

• D₂₀: The specified density of the battery electrolyte at 20°C.
• Dt: Actual measured density of electrolyte
• t: Actual measured temperature
