  • The following glass has been installed using 3MATD Part # 8609 Sealants for bonding automotive glass:

- windshield;

- triangular saloon window;

- glass of the luggage compartment door.
  • When replacing glass, you must use the following materials and tools:

- glue ЗМ ATD Part # 6609 Sealants for gluing car windows;

- primer ЗМ ATD Part # 8608 Super Fast Urethane Primer;

- spacers supplied as spare parts;

- anti-corrosion compound (or Tectyl 506T...Valvoline Oil Company) for corrosion protection;

- isopropyl alcohol to remove grease and lubricants from surfaces to be joined;

- a steel string with a diameter of 0.6 mm and a length of 1 m for removing the glued glass;

- glue extrusion gun.

Note: It is also possible to use the Teroson 127.37V car glass repair kit. In this case, use the instructions included with the kit.

Rules for handling adhesive for car windows

Store the glue in a cool place, avoiding direct sunlight. Do not squeeze or place heavy objects on the glue, otherwise it will be deformed. The shelf life of the glue is no more than 6 months, with a longer shelf life it loses its properties.

Processing of body flanging

Before processing the body flanging, completely remove the old layer of glue.
If the flanging requires touch-up painting, then after painting it must be kept in a hot dryer.

Sequence of glass installation operations

Body surface

Cut off the remains of the old glue to a thickness of no more than 2 mm. Wash off the remaining glue with isopropyl alcohol and dry the surface for at least 3 minutes.

Attach a spacer to set the glass position.

Apply primer to the bonding surface and let it dry for at least 3 minutes.

Glass surface

When installing used glass, completely cut off the remains of the old glue and then clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol. Dry the glass for at least 3 minutes.

When replacing glass, clean and rinse the bonding surfaces with isopropyl alcohol, then dry for at least 3 minutes.

Glue the spacers and glass trims to the glass, observing the specified dimensions along the perimeter of the inner edge of the glass.

Apply a sufficient layer of primer evenly over the bonding surface so that there are no gaps. Then dry for 3 to 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes of applying the primer, apply an even layer of glue around the perimeter of the inner surface of the glass.

Glass installation

After applying a layer of glue, lightly press the glass evenly around the entire perimeter to ensure complete adhesion.

Use a spatula to remove excess glue squeezed out from under the glass from the body and glass surfaces and then wash with isopropyl alcohol.

Use a spray of water to check the tightness of the installed glass.
