Rules for handling automotive glass adhesive
Store the adhesive in a cool place away from direct sunlight. Do not squeeze or put heavy objects on the adhesive, otherwise it will be deformed. The shelf life of the adhesive is not more than 6 months; with a longer shelf life, it loses its properties.
Body trim processing
Before processing the body flanging, completely remove the old layer of glue.
If the flanging requires touch-up, then after painting it must be kept in a hot dryer.
The sequence of operations for installing glass
Body surface
Cut off the remnants of the old glue to a thickness of no more than 2 mm. Rinse the remaining adhesive with isopropyl alcohol and dry the surface for at least 3 minutes.
Attach spacer to set glass position.
Apply primer to the bonding surface and dry it for at least 3 minutes.
Glass surface
When installing glass that has been used, completely cut away any remaining adhesive and then clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol. Dry the glass for at least 3 minutes.
When replacing glass, clean and rinse the surfaces to be bonded with isopropyl alcohol, then dry for at least 3 minutes.
Glue spacers and glass overlays to the glass, observing the indicated dimensions along the perimeter of the inner edge of the glass.
Apply a sufficient coat of primer evenly over the bonding surface so that there are no gaps. Then dry for 3 to 30 minutes.
30 minutes after applying the primer, apply an even layer of adhesive around the perimeter of the inner surface of the glass.
Glass installation
After applying a layer of glue, lightly press the glass evenly around the entire perimeter to ensure complete bonding.
Use a spatula to remove excess glue squeezed out from under the glass from the surfaces of the body and glass and then rinse with isopropyl alcohol.
Use a sprayed water jet to check the tightness of the installed glass.
