The rear window defroster can be turned on when the ignition switch is in the ON position.
To turn on the heater, press the switch. To turn off the heater, press the switch again (A). The indicator light in the switch will remain on as long as the heater is on.
If the vehicle is equipped with heated outside rearview mirrors, pressing the rear window defroster switch will also remove fog from the outside rearview mirrors.
Warning
- (1) The rear window defroster is only powerful enough to remove frost (fogging), but not enough to melt snow stuck to the glass. Before turning on the heater, remove snow from the rear window
- (2) To avoid discharging the battery, do not use the rear window defroster while starting the engine or when the engine is off. Turn off the defroster as soon as the glass is clean.
- (3) Use a soft cloth to wipe the inside surface of the rear window and wipe the window carefully along the defroster wires to avoid damaging them.
- (4) Do not place objects near the rear window that may accidentally touch and damage the defroster wires.
