1. The engine is off and the steering wheel is locked.

The ignition key can only be inserted and removed in this position.

2. The driver is turned off, you can turn on the radio, cigarette lighter, etc.

3. The engine is running and all electrical systems can be switched on.

4. The starter works. After the engine starts, release the key and it will automatically return to the ON position.

Note: To remove the key from the ignition switch, turn it to the ACC position, then press the key until it turns to the LOCK position, then remove it from the ignition switch.

Warning
  • (1) Never remove the key from the ignition switch while the vehicle is moving, as this will lock the steering column, which may result in loss of control and damage to the vehicle or injury to passengers.
  • (2) Driving with the engine off is dangerous because the braking distance increases and more force will be required to apply to the brake pedal, which may lead to an accident. Also, more force will be required to turn the steering wheel.
  • (3) To prevent the battery from discharging when the engine is off, do not leave the ignition switch key in the ON position for a long time.
  • (4) When the engine is running, do not turn the ignition switch key to the START position, as this may damage the starter.
