The 12V electrical system has a negative common wire. Power for the lamps and all electrical components is supplied by a lead-acid battery, which in turn is charged by the generator.
This chapter describes the repair and maintenance procedures for various electrical equipment not related to the engine. Information on the battery, alternator, distributor and starter is contained in chapter 5.
Please note that when working on any part of the electrical system, the negative battery cable must be disconnected to prevent short circuit and/or fire.
