Some electrical components use a relay to supply electrical current. If the relay is faulty, the component will not work properly.

Several relays are grouped together in several locations under the instrument panel for ease of replacement (see illustration).



5.2 On most later models, the relays for the air conditioner, tail light and other components are located near the fuse box in the engine compartment


If you suspect that the relay is faulty, it must be removed and tested. The faulty relay is replaced entirely
