Note: If the fan does not work at only one speed, the ballast resistor is usually faulty. To replace the resistor, you need to remove the fan.
Replacing the resistance
Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.
Caution: This erases data in the electronic memory, such as the engine fault memory or the radio receiver code. Disconnect the battery only when the ignition is switched off, otherwise the fuel injection device control unit may be damaged. Before disconnecting the battery, read the instructions in the "Radio receiver" and "Removing and installing the battery" sections.

Open the glove compartment and release the protrusions from the frame. Tilt the glove compartment downwards.

Unscrew the screws securing the rear wall of the glove compartment and remove it.

Remove resistor "2" and replace.
Checking/removing the fan

Remove the air duct under the fan motor. The fan motor is on the right behind the glove compartment. To make it easier to access the motor, it is better to first remove the right trims "2" and "3" and the control unit "9" of the injection system and put them aside.

In the front passenger footwell, remove the fan motor connector. Connect the positive and negative battery terminals to the motor terminals. The motor should work normally, otherwise replace it.
Change the battery poles on the motor terminals and check the normal operation of the motor and in reverse rotation.
If the engine is operating normally, the fault should be looked for in the heater relay, switch or electrical wiring.
Remove 3 screws on the fan motor cover and pull the fan down.
Check the ease of movement of the fan rotor.
Remove any foreign objects that have fallen into the air duct.
Installation
Install and secure the fan, not forgetting to install the gasket, see the figure in section 22.1.
Caution: Replace any deformed or damaged gasket.
Install the fan, all trims and glove box in reverse order.
Connect the ground cable to the battery.
If they are available, set the time on the clock and enter the security code into the radio.
