Removing
Loosen the oil pan mounting bolts.
Insert the special oil pan remover between the oil pan and the cylinder block.
While moving the special puller at an angle along the edge of the oil pan, hit it with a hammer to separate the pan from the cylinder block.
Remove the oil pan.
Attention! Using a conventional screwdriver or chisel instead of a special puller may deform the mating surface of the oil pan and cause oil leakage.
Examination
Check the oil pan for damage.
Check the mating surface for deformation, nicks and cracks.
Check the oil pickup for damage, clogging or deformation of the screen and tube.
Installation
Clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder block and oil pan flange from the remnants of the old sealant.
Degrease the sealing surface on the oil pan flange and mating surface on the cylinder block
Apply a 4 mm bead of sealant around the entire oil pan flange as shown in the illustration.
Sealant MITSUBISHI GENUINE (Part № MD970389) or similar.
Attention! Make sure that the sealant does not protrude beyond the edge of the sump on the gearbox side.
Install and secure the oil pan within 15 minutes of applying the sealant. Tighten the oil pan mounting bolts sequentially diagonally in several steps.
Tightening torque: 9.0±3 Nm.
Attention! After installing the oil pan, do not start the engine for 1 hour.
Install the new drain plug O-ring in the direction shown in the illustration.
