Gearbox: Checking the oil level (Mitsubishi Lancer 3)

• Gearbox oil specification API GL-4 or 5 SAE 75W-85W For all-wheel drive, additionally SAE 80W.

Examination

• Raise the car horizontally.
• If present, remove the engine and gearbox protection.
• Inspect the gearbox for oil leaks.

• Unscrew the oil filler plugs on the gearbox housing and the distributor housing

• The oil level should be at the bottom edge of the filler hole. Add oil if necessary.
• Screw in the plug, but do not tighten it too much.
• Lower the car, see item 29.
