- The junction of the engine block and gearbox (flywheel oil seal / gearbox shaft oil seal).
- The junction of the two halves of the gearbox housing.
- Oil filler and oil drain plugs.
- Drive shaft at the junction with the gearbox.
When looking for leaks, proceed as follows:
- Clean the gearbox housing with a cold cleaner.
- Check oil level, top up if necessary.
- Sprinkle with chalk or talcum powder the joints and gaskets on the engine.
- Make a test drive. Since oil on a hot engine thins and seeps through a leak faster, a test drive should be made on a freeway for at least 30 km.
- Then raise the car and inspect the gearbox with the carrier.
- Repair leak immediately.
