Removal
− Before starting to remove parts, remove the engine crankcase protective cover.
− The parts are removed in the order of numbers shown in the figure "Exhaust pipes, muffler and catalytic converter".
Exhaust pipes, muffler and catalytic converter (2WD models). 1 - main muffler, 2 - gasket, 3 - rubber-metal bracket, 4 - central pipe of the exhaust system, 5 - gasket, 6 - oxygen sensor, 7 - catalytic converter (main), 8 - gasket, 9 - exhaust inlet pipe, 10 - gasket, 11 - rubber-metal bracket.

- (Except 4G93-MPI engine) When removing parts, pay attention to the operation of removing the oxygen sensor.
To avoid damaging the sensor wiring, use a special tool head to remove it.

Examination
1. Check mufflers and pipes for corrosion or damage.
2. Check the rubber brackets and protective covers for wear or damage.
3. Check for exhaust gas leaks from the mufflers and exhaust pipes.
Installation
− Installation of parts is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
- (Except 4G93-MPI engine) When installing parts, pay attention to the oxygen sensor installation operation.
To avoid damaging the sensor wiring, use a special tool head to install it.
- After completing the installation of the parts, install the engine crankcase protective cover.
