Jumpers are used in circuits that are not protected by conventional fuses, such as the ignition system circuit.
The blown links used on these models are similar to fuses in that their condition can also be visually checked.
1. To replace a blown jumper, disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the burnt jumper from the connection connector and replace it with a new one.
3. Always first determine the cause of the failure of the old jumper before installing a new one.
Caution: If your car stereo has a coding system, make sure you know the activation code for the stereo before disconnecting the battery.
