Airbags are designed to protect the driver in the front seat in the event of a collision. The system includes inertial sensors mounted on panels on both sides of the radiator and a module with a cushion located in the center of the steering wheel. Maintenance of the system is performed only in a car service center.

If the system control lamp lights up after turning on the ignition and goes out after 7 seconds, then the system is working properly. If the lamp's burning mode differs from the specified one, contact your car service immediately.

Maintenance Precautions

1. Maintenance work on the system, including removal and installation of the airbag module, must be performed by qualified personnel using the following equipment:
  • scanner MB991502;
  • ROM Pack;
  • mB991349 SRS tester;
  • diagnostic connector A wiring MB686560 SRS;
  • diagnostic connector B wiring MB628919 SRS.

The use of other equipment is prohibited.

2. Start work at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the ground.

3. Do not expose system parts to temperatures above 93°C.

4. When connecting and disconnecting the scanner, the ignition must be off.

5. When handling the pillow container, do not expose it to sudden mechanical impacts, or to water or grease.
