The crankcase ventilation valve is designed to redirect crankcase gases into the intake manifold for afterburning in the engine cylinders. The valve stem is screwed into the cylinder head cover.

Removal

1. Disconnect the hose from the valve.

2. Unscrew the valve core and connect the hose to the removed valve core.

3. With the engine idling and warm, place your finger on the valve hole.

The absence of a clearly perceptible vacuum indicates a faulty valve and the need to replace it. Stop the engine.

4. Checking the vacuum on the valve.

5. Remove the valve core from the hose and blow out the valve core from the threaded side. If air does not pass, replace the valve.

Flush the hoses with solvent and check their condition.

Installation

The valve is installed in the reverse order of removal.
