Removal
To remove, follow these steps in sequence.
1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Drain the fuel from the fuel tank.
3. Relieve the fuel pressure in the fuel line.
4. Remove the center pipe of the exhaust system.

5. Unscrew the connecting nuts and disconnect hoses 2 (Fig. 7.28).
6. While supporting the fuel tank, loosen the nuts and remove the fuel tank mounting straps.
7. Loosen the screws and remove the fuel tank protection.
8. Remove the fuel tank assembly 13.
9. Loosen the union nut and disconnect the main fuel hose 3.
10. Unscrew the union nut and disconnect the fuel return hose 6.
11. Using a special tool, remove the fuel pump cover 5.
12. Remove fuel pump 4.
13. Loosen the union nut and disconnect the fuel vapor recovery system hose 12.
14. Remove the fuel tank filler cap 9.
15. Remove the fuel tank filler neck tray 10.
16. Loosen the screws and remove the filler neck assembly 8.
17. Loosen the clamps and remove the drain tube 7.
18. Loosen the clamps and remove the fuel filler hose 11.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
1. Make sure that the rubber gasket of the fuel tank is not damaged or deformed, then securely fasten the gasket.
Caution: If the rubber gasket is damaged or deformed, replace it with a new one.
2. Apply soapy water to the inner surface of the gasket and then install the fuel pump.
Caution! Do not tilt the fuel pump when installing it. Do not allow the gasket to become jammed when installing it.
3. Using the special tool, tighten the fuel pump cover to 49 N·m.
4. Install the center pipe of the exhaust system.
5. Fill the tank with fuel.
6. Check the fuel system for leaks.
