Removal



1. Loosen the front wheel nuts. Raise the front of the car and place it on stands, block the rear wheels. Apply the parking brake. Remove the front wheel.

2. Secure the steering rod with pliers or a wrench, loosen the lock nut so as to mark the position of the steering rod end on the thread.

3. Remove the cotter pin and loosen the nut on the steering rod end stud.

4. Disconnect the steering rod from the steering knuckle arm using a puller. Unscrew the nut and remove the steering rod.

5. Unscrew the tailpiece from the steering rod.

Installation



6. Screw the tailpiece onto the steering rod up to the mark on the thread and install the steering rod stud into the steering knuckle arm. Tighten the lock nut securely.

7. Install the castle nut onto the stud and tighten it to the specified torque. Install a new cotter pin.

8. Install the wheel and its mounting nuts. Lower the car to the ground and tighten the nuts to the torque specified in specifications.

9. Have the front wheel alignment checked at a car repair shop.
