1. Loosen the front wheel nuts, lift the vehicle and place it on supports. Remove the wheel(s).

2. Remove the steering rod and locknut as described in section 19.

3. Remove the clamps securing the steering gear boots and remove the boots

4. Before installing the new boot, wrap the threads and toothed portion on the tie rod end with one layer of tape so as not to damage the end of the new boot.

5. Pull the new boot onto the steering gear so that it fits into the groove of the steering rod, install new clamps.

6. Remove the tape and install the steering rod end (see section 19).

7. Install the wheel and its mounting nuts. Lower the car to the ground and tighten the nuts to the torque specified in chapter 1 specifications.
