Warning! The car models covered in this manual are equipped with an additional security system (SRS). Before doing any work near the airbag unit, steering column or instrument panel, turn off the SRS to avoid injury if it is accidentally deployed (see Section Additional security system (SRS) - general information and precautions). SRS circuit wiring is easily identified by the yellow color of the insulation.
Mirage Models
Removing
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Attention! If the stereo system installed in the car is equipped with a security code, before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you have the correct combination to activate the audio system!
2. Remove the central section of finishing of the panel of devices.
3. Remove the knee brace.
4. Remove facing of an instrument panel.
5. Dismantle the instrument cluster and remove the meters/indicator lamps that need to be replaced (see Section Replacing Instrument Cluster Gauges).
Note. When removing the speedometer on models with a cable drive of the latter, the cable attachment is disconnected from the meter by turning it to the right or left.
Installation
1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order - try not to damage the printed circuit board and gauges of the instrument cluster.
2. Finally, connect the negative cable to the battery and check that all gauges on the instrument panel are working properly.
Galant Models
Removing
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Attention! If the stereo system installed in the car is equipped with a security code, before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you have the correct combination to activate the audio system!
2. Remove the two fixing screws and carefully remove the combination visor from the instrument panel.
3. Turn out four fixing screws and remove a combination of devices in gathering with facing.
Attention! On some models, there is no need to disconnect from the wiring combination - the printed circuit board is equipped with pin connectors that are automatically connected when it is installed.
4. Dismantle the lining and remove the meters / control lamps that need to be replaced (see Section Replacing Instrument Cluster Gauges).
Note. When removing the speedometer on models with a cable drive of the latter, the cable attachment is disconnected from the meter by turning it to the right or left.

2. Remove the switches and the hood release handle from the knee stop located under the steering column. Turn out the opened screws and remove an emphasis.
3. Remove the top and bottom sections of a casing of a steering column.
4. Remove facing of an instrument panel.
5. Dismantle the instrument cluster and remove the meters/indicator lamps that need to be replaced (see Section Replacing Instrument Cluster Gauges).
