1. Raise the rear of the car, substituting stands under the frame, remove the wheel.
2. Hang the rear axle with 2 jacks and unscrew the nut (And) top shock absorber.
3. Remove shock absorber from stud (on vehicles with springs).
4. Turn away the lower fastenings and remove the shock-absorber.
5. On vehicles with springs, lower the bridge and remove the upper studs from the holes in the body.
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
7. Tighten the top mounting nuts so that dimension A is 1–2 mm.
8. On vehicles with rear springs, finally tighten the lower mounting nuts after lowering the vehicle with a torque of 110–130 Nm. (1989-91) or 216–245 Nm. (1992-98).
9. On vehicles with springs, tighten the upper and lower mounting nuts with a torque of 18–25 Nm. The tightening torque of these nuts must be 15 Nm.
