Rear shock absorber — removal and installation (Mitsubishi Galant 5)

1. Loosen the rear wheel nuts, raise the rear of the vehicle and place it on stands. Block the front wheels. Remove the rear wheel(s).

2. Place a jack under the rear suspension arm and raise it so that it takes up some of the shock absorber spring pressure. Remove the lower shock absorber mounting bolt.

3. Unscrew the upper mounting fasteners, then remove the shock absorber.

4. Install in reverse order. Tighten the fasteners securely.
