Front wheel alignment means changing the position of the front wheels in relation to the suspension and the ground. Correct front wheel alignment not only improves handling, but also reduces tire wear. Front wheel alignment on this vehicle includes toe-in only. Caster angle adjustment is only available on Precis models.
This adjustment requires a variety of complex and expensive equipment, so take it to a car repair shop. However, this section will give you a general idea of the front wheel alignment angles, which will make it easier for you to communicate with the mechanics who perform this work.
Toe-in is the angle of rotation of the front wheels. The purpose of setting the toe-in is to ensure that the front wheels move parallel. On cars with zero toe-in, the distance between the front ribs of the wheels is equal to the distance between the rear ribs. Usually, the toe-in value is limited to fractions of an inch. Setting the toe-in angle is done by changing the position of the steering rod end on the inner rod. Incorrect toe-in will lead to premature tire wear. because they will rub against the road surface.
The longitudinal tilt angle of the strut pivot axis is the angle of deviation of the front suspension axles from the vertical. If the strut is tilted backwards, the angle is considered positive. If the strut is tilted forwards, the angle is considered negative. The angle is adjusted by changing the position of the adjusting nuts on the strut braces (only for Precis models).
The wheel alignment on this vehicle is not adjustable.
