Measuring the brightness of headlights (Mitsubishi Carisma)

1. Using a photometer and following the manufacturer's instructions, measure the brightness of the headlights. The limit value is not less than 30,000 cd.

Caution: When measuring the light brightness, set the engine speed to 2000 min⁻¹ so that the battery is in a charging state.

2. If a luxmeter is used to measure the brightness of light, then it is necessary to convert its readings into photometer units of measurement using the following formula:

I = ER2, where

I – equivalent brightness, cd/m²;
E – illumination, lx;
R – distance in meters from the headlight to the lux meter.
