Despite the possibility of monitoring the thickness of the brake pads using a wear indicator (some models), one should not forget about additional visual inspection, which should be carried out more or less regularly and not only before a long trip.
The minimum thickness of the working layer of the pad is 2.0 mm.
For quick control with the wheel cap removed, shine a lamp and evaluate the thickness of the lining. More accurate control is with the wheels removed.
Check the wear of the linings with a ruler.
