When the ignition key is in the ACC position, the outside air temperature and the current time are displayed on the central display. When the ignition key is in the ON position, the average fuel consumption is displayed in addition to these readings. If the car is equipped with an air conditioner, the set temperature, fan speed and ventilation mode (air flow direction) are also displayed (Fig. 1.30).
For vehicles not equipped with a Mitsubishi audio system, only average fuel consumption data is provided.
In vehicles with a Mitsubishi audio system, in addition to average fuel consumption data, pressing the DISP button on the audio system will display the vehicle's range and average speed.
The brightness of the display and the unit of measurement of the distance (kilometers or miles) can be changed as desired. If the system is unable to estimate the value of the average speed, range and average fuel consumption, the screen displays "– – –".
The display readings change depending on road conditions (road conditions, driving style, etc.). This information is approximate, as the data displayed may differ from the actual data.
Outside air temperature
The display shows the air temperature
А - (see Fig. 1.30) outside the vehicle. If the temperature drops below approximately 3°C, a warning signal sounds and the display flashes for 5 seconds.
The range of outside temperature measurement is from –40°C to +70°C.
If the ambient temperature is outside the measurement range (below –40°C or above +70°C), the display shows the symbols "LO°C" or "HI°C".
Electronic clock
The current time can be set in the following modes:
1) on cars with original Mitsubishi audio system: "Auto mode" and "Manual mode";
2) on cars without original Mitsubishi audio system: only "Manual mode".
Selecting automatic or manual time setting mode (only for vehicles with the original Mitsubishi audio system) is carried out in the following order:
- - turn off the radio;

- turn on the radio again by pressing button 2 (Fig. 1.31) to remember the station frequency.
If the display shows the inscription "CT", then the automatic tuning mode is enabled ("Auto mode"). If this message does not appear on the display, then the manual setting mode is enabled.
The current time is set by pressing the buttons according to the following scheme:
1. Turn off the radio.

2. Press button 2 (Fig. 1.32) to memorize the station frequency and turn on the radio receiver again. The "CT" symbol on the display will disappear, which means that the manual time setting mode has been selected.
3. Set the time by pressing the corresponding buttons:
Н - setting the clock;
М – setting minutes;
SET – reset the minutes to zero.
For example:
10:30 – 11:29 resets to 11:00;
11:30 – 12:29 resets to 12:00.
Display operating mode
On vehicles with a genuine Mitsubishi audio system, pressing the DISP button can display, in addition to average fuel consumption, also the vehicle's cruising range and average speed. When the ignition key is turned to the ON position, the display sequentially displays the three indicators (average fuel consumption - vehicle's cruising range - average speed), and then the display returns to the previous state that was before the ignition key was last turned to the OFF position.
If you press the "DISP" button during the mode change process described above, the mode change will stop and the display will show the indicator (mode) that was on the display before the last time the ignition key was turned to the "OFF" position.
Selecting the display mode (only for vehicles with genuine Mitsubishi audio system)
On vehicles with a Mitsubishi audio system installed, each time the "DISP" ("Display") button is lightly pressed for less than 2 seconds, the display mode changes in the following sequence: average fuel consumption – vehicle range – average vehicle speed (Fig. 1.33).

Average fuel consumption
The display shows the average fuel consumption (L/100 km or mpg – miles per gallon) starting from the moment the readings were reset. If you need to start measuring again, reset the display – it will show the average fuel consumption starting from this moment.
Resetting (zeroing) the central display readings
For cars without original Mitsubishi audio system
Click on the button А (Fig. 1.34) and hold it down for more than 2 s.

For cars with original Mitsubishi audio system
Press and hold the DISP button for more than 2 seconds.
When you turn the ignition key to the "ON" position, the display will show the average fuel consumption corresponding to the moment the ignition was last turned off.

On vehicles with an original Mitsubishi audio system installed, the display shows the range, i.e. the distance (in km or miles) that the vehicle can travel on the fuel remaining in the tank (Fig. 1.35).
When the display shows the vehicle's range, if the range is less than 50 km (30 miles), a warning signal sounds and the display starts to flash. In this case, refuel the vehicle as soon as possible. Even if the display currently shows a value other than the range, when the range decreases to 50, 25 and 10 km (or 30, 15 and 6 miles), a warning signal sounds and the display shows the range for 5 seconds. Then the display returns to the current value.
Average speed
On vehicles with the original Mitsubishi audio system, the display shows the average vehicle speed D (see Fig. 1.30). This indicator determines the average vehicle speed (in kilometers per hour or miles per hour) since the display was last reset. If desired, the average vehicle speed can be measured from any intermediate point in time during the trip.
To reset the display, press and hold the DISP button for more than 2 seconds.
Adjusting display brightness
To turn on the brightness adjustment function, press the button simultaneously А (see Fig. 1.34) and the button Н time settings.
To adjust the brightness by pressing the buttons Н or М to set the time, move the cursor on the display (Fig. 1.36):

Н - decrease brightness;
М – increase brightness.
To fix the selected brightness level, press the "SET" button of the time setting ("setting"). The display will return to its original state.
To exit the brightness adjustment mode before it is completed, press the button А (see Fig. 1.34).
During the adjustment process, if the "SET" button is not pressed for 15 seconds or more, the current brightness level will be set automatically. Then the display will return to the original state.
Selecting units of measurement shown on the display
Initially, the units of measurement for speed and fuel consumption for the display readings are set to km/h and l/100, respectively. To select the unit of measurement "mile", follow these steps:.
On cars without the original Mitsubishi audio system, you can replace km with miles or vice versa only in the average fuel consumption readings.
To enable the unit selection mode, hold down the button А (see fig. 1.34), press the button М time setting. The display will show the currently selected unit of measurement.
To change the unit of measurement of speed, use the buttons Н (km) or М (miles) to set the time and then press the "SET" button to lock the setting.
If kilometer was selected as the unit of measurement, then it is necessary to select the unit of measurement of fuel consumption by continuously pressing the button Н or М. The current unit of measurement will appear on the display.
To select the unit of measurement for fuel consumption, use the H (l/100 km) or M buttons, and then press the SET button to fix the setting.
After finishing the settings, press the "SET" button.
The display will return to its original state.
On cars without the original Mitsubishi audio system, you can replace km with miles or vice versa only in the average fuel consumption readings.
If selected М (mile), then the fuel consumption will be automatically shown in mpg (miles per gallon).
To exit the unit selection mode before it is finished, press the button А (see Fig. 1.34).
During the unit selection procedure, the display does not show the outside air temperature and time.
If the "SET" button is not pressed for more than 15 seconds during the process of selecting units of measurement, the selected units of measurement will be set automatically. Then the display will return to its original state.
